Nick Ridler is the Science Leader for Electromagnetics and a Principal Research Scientist at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL). He is also a Non-Executive Director of LA Techniques Ltd, and a Director of n3m-labs (the joint NPL/University of Surrey 'Nonlinear Microwave Measurement and Modelling Laboratories'). He is a Visiting Professor at the Universities of Leeds (School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering), Surrey (Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences) and Liverpool (Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics).
Professor Ridler is Chair of the MTT-S Standards Coordinating Committee; Chair of the IEEE P1785 Standard Working Group 'Waveguides for Millimeter and Submillimeter Wavelengths'; and, Past President of the Board of Directors of ARFTG (the Automatic RF Techniques Group). He also represents the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) on the BIPM Joint Committee for Guides in Metrology (JCGM) 'Working Group on the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM)'. Professor Ridler is a Fellow of the IEEE.
